Mission's Dinner

Saturday night we had a wonderful time! It was our first Mission's Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction.

It was Ashley's crack at a fundraising event for the youth's trip to Africa this summer and her family did a wonderful job ~ we all had an incredible time. Everyone enjoyed their spaghetti dinner with a Caesar salad and dessert. The silent auction items were very impressive... from 4 tickets for 2 to Frederick Cinemas; to a $250 spa package from the House of Angels Spa on Duke Street in Kitchener; to delicious bread dippers and exotic olive oils from Epicurean Foods in Cambridge; to a commemorative hockey puck from the 1972 Canada / Russia game signed by Paul Henderson himself. It was quite a wide range of goods to bid on!!

Congratulations to all those who "won" their favourite item!

In total we were able to raise over $2,100.00 that we will put towards the youth's trip to Durban / Mozambique this upcoming July. Thank you to all who helped put this evening together, to those who donated food and gifts, to those youth who served and washed dishes all night long and especially to those who came out and supported our evening. I know the youth of New Song Church really appreciate it.

To date we've raised almost $5,000.00. We still have a ways to go so keep checking out the upcoming events and thank you for continuing to support us in helping send 6 teenagers to Africa.

For more information about the 8 different Mission's trips taking place this summer, through our friends at Southlands Church in Walnut, California, go to www.fourtwelve.us or come by New Song Church on Sunday morning at 10am.
