World Prayer Placemats

Again, I have to say that we have a great group of kids at New Song. What a blessing they all are! Today was our Missions Sunday "kickoff" for the year. We read some books on different countries and cultures and each of the kids also made a placemat.

They all enjoyed colouring them in and then we laminated them for protection. The idea behind this is that we want our kids to be praying for the people in all the world. On each placemat there is a world map on one side, with time zones (if you can read small enough!) and on the other side is a specific continent.

They were told that if they kept their placemats at the kitchen table, or wherever they eat, then they will remember to pray for that continent at every meal. This way, the entire world is being prayed for by the kids and their families everyday. How awesome is it to know that our prayers as well as our childrens prayers will be spread around the world? We need to remember that we are raising the next generation of prayer warriors who will change the world!!

ps: If your child missed this Sunday school, don't worry, we have some extras that will be coloured and laminated to pick up next week.
