Homework for Father's Day

Last week I gave the guys in the Church an assignment. Find one example of Paul’s leadership either as King, Priest or Prophet and share what you found and how it applies to our lives today.

I hope you've used the week well and are prepared to give a 5 minute sermon tomorrow, during Father's Day morning service?!

Those who are ready to do this, please see John M (Dad) as soon as you arrive. Remember.... prayer is at 9:30am and the service begins at 10!

Thanks to the guys who took me up on my challenge. I heard you did a great job!
Dave

Here's a reminder of what's on the front of the June bulletin - Happy Father's Day!!

Proverbs 20:6-7, “Most men will proclaim every one of his own goodness; but a faithful man who can find? The righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed (happy, fortunate, enviable) are his children after him.”

Who can find a man of integrity? What does that mean? What does that look like?

Webster’s definition of ‘integrity’ is: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values: incorruptibility; an unimpaired condition: soundness; the quality or state of being complete or undivided: completeness.

Here’s a small portrait of a man of integrity: (taken from Proverbs)

1) His children are blessed after him (20:7)
2) He is wise, will hear and will increase learning (1:5; 9:9)
3) He walks in the way of good men and keeps to the tried-and-true paths (2:20)
4) He finds favor, good understanding and high esteem in the sight of God and man (3:4)
5) His children hear his instruction and grow wise (4:1)
6) He avoids strange women (5:8) and rejoices with the wife of his youth (5:18)
7) He follows his father’s good advice and doesn’t wander off from his mother’s teachings (6:20)
8) Blessed is the man who listens to wisdom, watching daily and waiting at the gates for it (8:34)
9) He makes hay while the sun shines (10:5)
10) A worthy wife is his joy and crown (12:4)
11) He is gentle, even towards his animals (12:10)
12) He stays on the job and has food for the table(12:11)
13) He leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren (13:22)
14) He is slow to anger (16:32)
15) Like iron sharpening iron, he sharpens a friend (27:17)
16) He is generous to the poor and does not lack (28:27)

Are you an honest, reliable and trustworthy man?
Because that is what a man of integrity is!

Happy Father’s Day!
