Jehovah-Rapha
That is just one of the names for God and His name is above all other names including sickness and disease! He is the Lord God Almighty who healed yesterday, today and will continue to heal tomorrow!
Jeremaih 17:14, "Heal (rapha) me, O Lord, and I shall be healed (rapha); save me, and I shall be saved."
The nature of God is such that His heart intensely yearns to heal and repair His creation ~ His beautiful handiwork. Rapha ("raw-faw") means to repair, restore health, heal, mend, fix, cure.
Psalm 103:3, referring to the Lord, "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth (rapha) all thy diseases." Psalm 107:20, "He sent His word, and healed (rapha). Its most majestic occurrence is in Isaiah 53:5, which tells us that we are healed by the stripes of God's sacrificed Lamb, Jesus Christ His Son.
The "healing" God desires to bestow is for everyone's whole being. It involves repair of the physical body, soul, behaviour, life, and even extends outward to nature itself.
We here at New Song Church and World Outreach in Kitchener, Ontario believe that God is Jehovah-Rapha!! He IS the God who heals, yesterday, today and tomorrow!!
